Storing MMS and CDS for Maximum Potency
Keep both solutions in amber glass bottles with tight polyseal caps. Place them in a cool, dark cabinet away from any heat source or direct light. This single step preserves strength for 12 to 18 months in most home settings.
Choose a Stable Spot
Pick a location that stays between 15 and 22 degrees Celsius year round. A kitchen pantry shelf or bedroom closet usually works. Avoid the fridge because repeated temperature swings when you open the door speed up breakdown.
- Stay clear of windows, ovens, or heaters.
- Keep bottles upright so liquid does not touch the cap threads.
- Store away from strong smells such as vinegar or essential oils.
Use the Right Bottles
Amber glass blocks light that destroys the active compound. Clear plastic lets light through and can react with the solution. I switched every batch to 100 ml and 250 ml amber dropper bottles last year and noticed the difference in color retention.
- Transfer from the original container only when needed.
- Fill each bottle almost to the top to leave minimal air space.
- Label with the date you opened or mixed the batch.
Handle Daily Use
Take out only what you need for the day. Work quickly, then close the cap right away. One user I know keeps a small working bottle on the counter and the main stock in the back of the cabinet. That simple split cut his waste in half.
- Use glass droppers, not plastic ones that can absorb the liquid.
- Never leave the bottle open while you prepare the dose.
- If you activate MMS on the spot, do it just before use rather than pre-mixing large amounts.
Watch for Loss of Strength
Check the color every few months. Fresh CDS stays pale yellow to light green. MMS sodium chlorite solution should remain clear to faint yellow. When the color darkens or fades to brown, potency has dropped and it is time to replace the batch.
| Sign | What to Do |
|---|---|
| Strong chlorine smell when first opened | Still usable but test a small dose first |
| Cloudy or sediment appears | Discard and start a fresh bottle |
| No reaction when mixed with activator | Replace the stock |
